SETAC Summer Schools

SETAC is committed to excellence in the environmental sciences. Sharing learning and experience is essential to maintain a high level of knowledge and excellence within the SETAC community and to ascertain the best protection of environmental quality, today and tomorrow.

SETAC Summer Schools are dedicated to supporting the sharing of knowledge and of environmental protection concerns.

What is a Summer School?
Summer schools aim to offer scientists and students training through the best up-to-date knowledge in the areas of

Summer schools include time for teaching, exchanges, self-working on case-studies and knowledge assessment. Principles and methodologies developed are illustrated through worked examples, hands-on or case-studies.

Who may attend a Summer School?
Summer schools are organized for scientists of diverse origins and activities (students, scientists at universities, regulatory offices and private companies), who have the background education for the training.

New: Grants to attend a Summer School
A limited number of grants are available for SETAC student members who wish to attend a SETAC summer school. The grant application deadline is 31 May 2014. These are the main conditions to apply for a SETAC course grant:
-    must be a SETAC student member (provide member number)
-    must submit a brief CV and motivation letter
-    must submit a letter of recommendation

Winter School
Based on the principle of summer schools, SETAC Europe has also started organising Winter Schools. They are conducted from October to May.
